The Canterbury Workers Educational Association

Established in 1915, the Canterbury WEA is a voluntary non-profit, community, adult education association. The WEA aims to provide education for personal growth and towards the establishment of a just and equitable society. Here in Christchurch, WEA strives to provide affordable courses of a high standard that encourage discussion and respond to ideas and events in the local community.

WEA Membership is not required to attend courses but members receive the quarterly programme and newsletter by post and can obtain a small discount on course fees (This is $2 deduction on courses priced over $10 after the first full-price course booked, each term ). Membership, on calendar year basis, is $10 for individuals, $15 for family, $15 for affiliates and $150 for life.
